Placing the appliance
When constructed in an existing chimney (other than the
class 1 chimney in the UK), a flexible SS pipe is recommen-

!Caution
When constructed in a mantelpiece/fire-
place connected to an existing chimney
in Great Britain (class 1 chimney), the
separately supplied English description
'Fitting into a conventional class 1 chimney'
also applies. In addition to the installation
instructions, this booklet also contains sup-
plementary tests.
Caution
- Make sure that combustible objects and/or
materials have a distance from the
appliance of at least 500 mm;
- Place the built-in appliance (Global 40 CF)
against a wall made of non-combustible
and heat-resistant material;
- Maintain a minimum distance of 10 mm
between the back wall (non-combustible)
and the built-in appliance (Global 40 CF);
- Maintain a minimum distance of 50 mm
between the back wall of non-combustible
material and the freestanding appliance
(Global Beau). For combustible material
this minimum distance should be 180 mm
(see fig. 2)
- If there is one side wall, keep a minimum
distance of 50 mm between the side
wall of non combustible material and the
free-standing appliance. For combustible
material this minimum distance should be
180 mm.
- If the appliance is placed between two side
walls, keep a minimum distance of 150 mm
between the side wall of non combustible
material and the free-standing appliance.
For combustible material this minimum
distance should be 280 mm.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 230 mm
above the freestanding appliance in case of
non-combustible material, in case of com-
bustible material this minimum distance
should be 480 mm.
- Take sufficient measures to prevent tempe-
ratures of a wall behind the chimney breast
becoming too high, including the materials
and/or objects behind the wall;
- Place the built-in appliance on non-com-
bustible and heat-resistant material;
- Do not cover the appliance and/or do
not wrap it in an insulation blanket or any
other material;
- Do not make any changes to the appliance.
!Caution
- Take the minimum construction depth into
account of the built-in appliance; Global 40
CF: 300 mm (see fig. 2).
The built-in appliance must be built tightly in the chimney
breast or provided with a decorative strip or front all around
it. Upon request, the plaster strip or front are included in the
delivery.
! Tip
For the built-in appliance you should use
a mantelpiece with a lower board that can
be disassembled. If the cover under the
combustion chamber (see fig. 4a) can be
removed, this will make maintenance easier.
