INSTALLATION MANUAL
Preface
DRU, a manufacturer of gas-fired heating appliances,
develops and produces products that comply with the
highest quality, performance and safety requirements.
This guarantees that the user will be able to enjoy using his
product for many years to come.
This appliance has a CE marking, which means that it
complies with the essential requirements of the European
gas appliance directive.
Two manuals are supplied with the appliance: the installa-
tion manual and the user manual. These have been included
in one booklet.
For Great-Britain, the booklet "fitting into a conventional
class 1 chimney" was also added to the Global 40 CF.
As an installer, you must be competent in the field of
atmospheric gas-fired heating.
The installation manual will give you the information you
need to install the appliance in such a way that it will
operate properly and safely.
This manual discusses the installation of the appliance and
the regulations that apply to the installation. In addition, you
will find technical data for the appliance and information on
maintenance, any malfunctions that might occur and their
possible causes.
The figures are included at the back of this booklet
(Appendix 3).

1. Introduction
This freestanding appliance (Global Beau) and the built-in
appliance (Global 40 CF) are open-flued atmospheric gas-
fired heating appliances. An open-flued appliance draws its
combustion air from the living area. The living area must
be ventilated sufficiently, in order to provide the appliance
with combustion air. To guarantee a safe operation of the
appliance, an oxypilot safeguard has been installed. If the
supply of air is insufficient, the oxypilot will intervene and
switch off the appliance. The built-in appliance is suitable to
be built into a new chimney breast or an existing mantel-
piece/fireplace. The freestanding and built-in appliances can
be connected to an existing chimney (other than the class
1 chimney in the UK). For this, a flexible SS pipe is recom-
mended for the discharge of flue gases. For the built-in ap-
pliance, this manual describes the construction in a chimney
breast. In case of construction in a mantelpiece/fireplace
connected to an existing chimney in Great-Britain (class 1
chimney), the separately supplied English description 'Fitting
into a conventional class 1 chimney' also applies. The built-in
appliance can be tightly built in using a separately supplied
plaster strip, or it can be provided with a front all around it.
These components are not supplied with the built-in appli-
ance, but are available upon request. The installation instruc-
tions are provided with the part concerned. In most cases,
the chimney breast must be ventilated in order to achieve a
good heat discharge (see chapter 6.6). DRU is able to sup-
ply various ventilation elements. The appliances are supplied
with a wireless remote control that works on batteries.
2. CE declaration
Internal precautions at the company will guarantee that
appliances produced by DRU comply with the essential
requirements of the regulation concerning gas combustion
appliances and the standards applied for that purpose. This
declaration will lose its validity if adjustments are made to
the appliance, without prior written permission by DRU.
