In deze rubriek wordt een aantal, maar niet alle, condities besproken op basis waarvan de volgende
therapieën af te raden zijn.
CPAP
•
Ademhalingsstilstand of instabiele cardiorespiratoire status
•
Verminderd bewustzijn
•
Apneu
•
De luchtweg niet kunnen beschermen
•
Extreem angstige patiënt
•
Gelaatstrauma/-brandwonden
•
Gelaats-, slokdarm- of maagchirurgie
•
Lage bloeddruk secundair aan bloedverlies
•
Maagchirurgie of darmbloeding
CPAP via helm
•
Claustrofobische of tetraplegische patiënten
•
Monitoring tidal volume (teugvolume) vereist
Pediatrische CPAP
•
Obstructie van sinonasale polyposis (SNP) door secreties
•
Pulmonaal interstitieel emfyseem
•
Pneumomediastinum
•
Pneumothorax
•
Verlaagde cardiale output (door verlaagde veneuze return) met zeer hoge CPAP-niveaus

Inadequate ventilatie
•
Maagdistentie of voedselintolerantie

Verhoogde ademhalingsinspanning als gevolg van verhoogde luchtwegresistentie (gerelateerd aan
diameter van SNP)

Obstructie van SNP

Grote emfysemateuze bullae

Acuut astma of ernstig bronchospasme

Longabces

Ernstige fi brotische veranderingen

Verhoogde ademhalingsinspanning, bijv. COPD of acuut astma
