Preparing the trimmer for use
Caution! Disconnect the tool from the power supply before performing any assembly and adjustment work. In the case of mains-
powered trimmer, disconnect it from the socket, and for battery-powered tools – disconnect their batteries.
Visually inspect the tool. If any damage is discovered, do not commence work before removing it. Slide the cover off the blades
and check for damage.
Preparing the workplace
Before commencing work, prepare the workplace. Designate a safety zone around the work area where bystanders will not have
access. Ensure that there are no obstacles around the workplace which could cause the operator or the trimmer to collide during
work.
Installation of accessories (II)
Installation of the accessories must be carried out only when the power supply is disconnected (the battery must be disconnected
from the trimmer) and the blades are put into the blade cover. If the hand guard - shield has not been installed before starting
work, the shield must be screwed onto the trimmer housing. It is forbidden to use the tool without the hand guard-shield in place.
Connecting the trimmer to the power supply (III)
Only one of the following STHOR Li-Ion 20 V batteries can be used to power the tool: 78250, 78252, which can only be charged
using STHOR chargers 78260 or 78261. It is forbidden to use other batteries with a diff erent rated voltage and not matching the
device battery socket. It is forbidden to modify the socket or battery to make them match.
Slide the battery into the power socket until the battery latches engage. Make sure that the battery will not slide out on its own
during operation. Disconnect the battery by pressing the latch and then pulling the battery out of the trimmer housing.
Starting and stopping the trimmer (IV)
Ensure that the battery is connected to the trimmer and that there is no cover on the blades and that the blades do not come into
contact with any part of the body or other objects.
Keep posture which guarantees balance. Grasp the front handle with one hand and press the electric switch lock. Grasp the rear
handle with the other hand. Pressing the switch will activate the trimmer. Keep the on/off switch lock and the on/off switch pressed
at all times during operation.
The trimmer stops when the pressure on the power switch is released. The trimmer will also stop when the pressure on the switch
lock is released, but in this case the blades remain in motion for longer. Once the trimmer movement has come to a complete stop,
disconnect it from the power supply by disconnecting the battery. Next, proceed with maintenance.
Working with the trimmer
Do not allow the device to operate at low speed or during start-up.
The most eff ective work is if the cutting is done in full wide movements. For greater effi ciency
the trimmer can be tilted at an angle of 5-10
in the direction of cutting (V).
O
To achieve an even single hedge height, you can use string stretched along the cutting line. You need to cut the part of the hedge
above the string.
Vertical cutting of the hedge is possible. It is advisable to cut in a curved motion from bottom to top and then from top to bottom
to use both sides of the blades (VI).
Working tips
Maintain balance and proper posture during work. Exercise particular caution when working on a slippery, inclined, or uneven
surface.
Constantly keep an eye on the blades during operation. Do not cut in places which are out of sight.
Before starting work, inspect the workplace thoroughly, remove all loose branches and residues from the previous cutting. Special
care should be taken when treating tall hedges. The other side of the hedge should also be checked before starting work.
The trimmer gear cover heats up during operation. To avoid burns, avoid contact with the gearbox cover.
Take regular breaks when working. During operation, the tool emits noise and vibration, which impact the tool's operator. Taking
regular breaks and wearing personal protective equipment such as gloves, hearing protectors and eye protection allows to reduce
the impact of the tool on the operator's well-being.
Start work when healthy and in good shape. In case of nausea, headache, sight problems (e.g., reduced visual range), hearing
problems, or dizziness, immediately stop operating the tool.
If the trimmer jams during operation switch it off immediately using the on/off switch and disconnect the battery, wait until the shear
components have cooled completely and then proceed to remove the cause of the jam.
If, due to jamming, any part of the blades or cover is damaged or deformed, replace or repair it before resuming work.
