Backing Pad accessory Installation
7.5.1
Hook and Loop pad connection (Fig. 5)
Each sanding plate (triangular / round / rectangular / finger-type / cylindrical-type) is equipped
with a hook and loop rubber backing pad. This uses hook and loop backed accessories, which
firmly grip the backing pad when applied with moderate pressure.
To change, merely peel off the old accessory, remove dust from the backing pad if necessary
and press the new accessory in place. Be sure to align the sanding sheet holes with the holes
in the backing pad as best you can to allow the dust extraction system to function effectively.
After considerable use the backing pad surface will become worn, and must be replaced when
it no longer offers a firm grip. If the backing pad facing is wearing prematurely, decrease the
amount of pressure applied during the operation of the tool. Damage to the pad is not covered
the warranty.
7.5.2
Clamp pad connection (Fig. 6)
You can also attach sanding sheets without Velcro to the rectangular sanding base.
This is not possible with the other sanding bases (triangular / round / finger-type /
cylindrical-type). Open the 2 clamping brackets (G). Guide the sanding sheet first
under 1 clamping bracket as far as it will go. Secure the sanding sheet by closing the
clamping bracket. Place the sanding sheet tightly around the rectangular sanding
base. Guide the sanding sheet now under the other clamping bracket as far as it will
go. Secure the sanding sheet by closing the clamping bracket. When removing the
sanding sheets without velcro, follow the above procedure in reverse
order.
NOTE: Only use sanding paper that match the size and shape of the
sanding base.
NOTE: Do not use the same sanding sheet to sand different materials (e.g.
metal and then wood). Only work with sanding sheets in perfect condition
to achieve good sanding results.
7.6
Using the dust collection box (4) (Fig. 7)
▪
The dust extraction system extracts sanding dust from the work piece through the holes in
the backing pad. The dust is then transferred through the dust extraction port (12), on the
rear of the sander housing.
▪
To install: slide the dust collection box (4) into the dust extraction port (12), make sure the
latches on the right and left of the dust collection box (4) into place and it is secured (by
turning it slightly clockwise until it clicks into place) before beginning operation.
▪
To remove: When removing the dust collection box (4), follow the above procedure in
reverse order.
▪
If the dust collection box (4) is full, you can remove it from this tool and open the cover of
box, empty dust, wood bust, etc. in the body. Finally clean the dust collection box.
▪
To remove: Hold the top cover (H) with one hand and the lower cover with the other.
Disconnect the top cover form the lower cover (I).
NOTE: Do not use the device without the dust collection box or without
external dust extraction. Use of dust extraction can reduce hazards caused
by dust.
