– Push the speed switch (6) into position F.
– Pull the pull-starter (4) vigorously several times.
– Push the choke lever (1) into position B.
– Pull the pull-starter (4) vigorously several more
times until the motor starts.
– Let the motor run for five to ten seconds.
– Push the choke lever (1) into position C.
Starting the product (warm)
– Push the on/off switch (5) into position "I".
– Push the speed switch (6) into position F.
– Push the choke lever (1) into position B.
– Pull the pull-starter (4) vigorously several times
until the motor starts.

Cleaning the product
Danger of fire! Switch off the product
completely for cleaning and allow it to
cool down for a few minutes. Hot
motor parts can cause severe burns.
– Brush off coarse dirt.

– Wipe down the product with a slightly damp
cloth.
– Empty the collecting sack regularly and clean if
necessary.
Maintenance
Product damage! The product must
never be operated without the air filter,
since this can cause damage to the
motor.
Cleaning the air filter

– Push the choke lever (1) into position B.
– Loosen the screws (19) on the cover (20).
– Remove the cover (20).

– Remove the air filter (21).
– Wash out the air filter thoroughly and let it dry.
• Use water with cleanser for this purpose.
– Apply a thin coat of oil to the air filter (21).
– Insert the air filter into the cover (20).
– Replace the cover (20) and fasten it with
screws (19).
Cleaning/replacing the spark plug
Risk of burns! Before beginning work,
switch the product's motor off and
allow it to cool down.
Product damage! To clean the spark
plug, use only wire brushes with brass
bristles. Bristles of any other material
will damage the electrode! Fit spark
plug spark only when motor is cold.
Use specified spark plug (see
Technical data – Page 36).

– Pull off the spark plug connector (22).
– Unscrew the spark plug (23) counter-clockwise.
– Check the electrode for discolouration.
• Standard colour: light brown.

– Check the electrode distance.
• Correct distance: 0,5 mm.
– Screw in the cleaned or new spark plug clock-
wise by hand.
