5.3 Signal cables
– The cables for the external ON/OFF switch, digital input
and reference value and sensor signals must be
screened. The cables must have a cross-section of min.
0.5 mm

and max. 1.5 mm
– The cable screens must be connected at both ends
to the earth connection of the pump. A good earth
connection must be ensured for the cable screens.
The screens must be laid as closely as possible to the
connecting terminals, fig. 10.
Fig. 10:
– The screws of the earth connection must always be
fully tightened, regardless of whether a cable is fitted
or not.
– The conductors in the pump terminal boxes should be
kept as short as possible.
Screened 2-wire cable must be used for the bus connec-
tion. The screen should be connected to terminal Y at
both ends, fig. 11.

6. Setting the pump
The software for setting proportional pressure, constant
pressure or unregulated operation can only be set or
modified by Biral service engineers.
The control characteristics are set at
Caution
the factory. When changing those by the
operator with the aid of the remote control
R100, there is the danger of losing the data
and the original setting cannot be cancelled.
Before changing the setting it is strongly
advised to contact the local Biral service
centre.
6.1 Proportional pressure regulation with pressure sensor
The delivery head rises or falls with rising or falling
volume flow.
Example:
EBZ-E 65 V/4 – 170
H. max 10 m

Setting delivery head
The delivery head of the pump can be set by pressing
the
or
key.
The illuminated fields on the control keyboard indicate
the delivery head set (setpoint). See following examples.
Fig. 12 shows illuminated field 8 activated. This displays
a required delivery head of 6.4 m with max. delivery.
The range of setting lies between 25% and 75% of the
maximum delivery head.
