2. Safety instructions
2.1. General
Read the following instructions carefully before using the device. Keep these operating instructions in a safe place.
Caution!
Risk of physical injury to people and animals and material damage if used incorrectly!
• ensure that the device is only used be people who have the professional skills required to do so.
• keep children and frail individuals away from the device.
• note the safety and maintenance instructions.
Anyone tasked on behalf of the user with commissioning, operation, maintenance or repair must have read and under-
stood the operating instructions and in particular the chapter on safety. The company using the device is recommended
to draw up in-house instructions taking account of the respective operator's known technical qualifications and to have
the compliance with the instructions and operating instructions or participation in a training session confirmed in wri-
ting. The machine must only be operated, maintained and repaired by trained and authorised personnel. The responsibi-
lities for the various activities that arise during the course of the operation and repair / maintenance of the machine must
be clearly defined and complied with, so that no unclear competencies arise from the aspect of safety. With all work
relating to commissioning, maintenance, inspection or repair, the regulations or advice listed in the operating instruc-
tions must be observed.
2.2. Safe working
Safety instructions for the operating company and/or operating personnel:
• any manner of working that impairs safety around the machine is prohibited.
• the operator must ensure that only authorised personnel work with or on the machine.
• the operator is obliged to check safety-relevant parts, such as guards (protective panels) before commissioning and,
in the event of any defects, resolve these defects before commissioning.
• no safety devices must be removed or disabled (potentially serious injury can occur as a result of such practices).
• if a safety device needs to be removed for repair, the safety device must be refitted once the repair work has been completed.
• before removing the safety panels, the M16 transport safety screws must be fitted in order to secure the carriage in place
• never reach behind the safety panels while working! Risk of injury!!
• keep all safety and danger instructions on the machine in a fully legible condition at all times and replace it if necessary
• maintenance and inspection work or repairs must only be carried out with the machine turned off
and only by trained personnel.
• before starting work on the machine, it must be disconnected from the power supply. In the case of faults,
the machine must be immediately disconnected from the power supply and secured against being switched on again.
Only authorised personnel may carry out the fault rectification.
• people with loose clothing or uncovered long hair must not approach the machine! Risk of injury!
• the length of the cattle's tail hairs must not exceed 5 cm! Risk of injury!
• before commissioning and operating the machine, these operating instructions must be read and noted carefully.
• operating the machine is only permitted with equipment and spare parts that are supplied or listed in the spare
and wear parts list.
• the machine may not be operated without a cover plug over the grease nipple on the brush bearing (see figure 7)
Caution!
Failure to comply with the individually listed points in the operating instructions can result in physical
injury or material damage for which the manufacturer assumes no liability.
2.3. Correct use
This device may only be use for dry-cleaning calves aged from 3 to 12 months and for goats. This includes calves and
goats with close-fitting collars and trimmed tail hairs (< 3 cm). The regulations set out in these operating instructions
