Filter pad not renewed.
Pump is dirty.
Water is not circulating
properly.
Too many accessories
installed on the hose
system.
...Pump does not work
Cause
No mains supply.
Shaft broken.
Impeller missing or blocked
by bits of gravel, shells or
similar.
...Air in the 昀椀lter
Cause
Filter location.
Air is being sucked in via the
hose installation.
Additional air supply
(membrane pump).
Filter media heavily soiled.
Filter media have been
placed in net bags.
... the pump causes loud operating noise
Cause
Ceramic sleeve not or
incorrectly installed.
Ceramic axis broken.
Be sure to renew the 昀椀lter pad each time you clean
(Order No. 2616802).
Clean pump chamber, cooling and lubrication channel with cleaning
brush set (Order No. 4009560) (see chapter on Servicing and
Maintenance).
Take 昀椀lter into operation by priming (as described in the instructions).
Make sure that the water runback (delivery side) is above the surface
of the water during 昀椀lling so that air is optimally bled from the device.
Connected accessories reduce 昀椀lter performance. Check and
remove unnecessary accessories or operate via a separate water
circulation system.
Solution
Plug in to mains.
Renew shaft (see list of spares).
Fit impeller, clean pump chamber.
Solution
The top edge of the pump head should be at least 10 cm beneath
the surface of the water. It is better to place it underneath the
aquarium.
Check that hose connector is 昀椀tted properly, and maybe check
whether hoses leak.
Do not install diffuser in the vicinity of the suction pipe.
Clean 昀椀lter media.
Never put long-term 昀椀lter media in net bags or nylon stockings. This
leads to a drastic reduction in pump performance within a short time.
Solution
Correctly install or, if required, replace the ceramic sleeve.
Replace the ceramic axis.
