Thorough cleaning

Remove pre昀椀lter, lattice screen, 昀椀lter pad and all three 昀椀lter inserts from the 昀椀lter container.
Rinse 昀椀lter media in the 昀椀lter inserts thoroughly under lukewarm running water until water
runs clear. The white 昀椀lter pad is for mechanical 昀椀ne 昀椀ltering. Since the dirt particles that cling to it
can not be completely washed out, the 昀椀lter pad may only be used once. Use a new 昀椀lter pad
(Order No. 2616802).
The blue 昀椀lter pad (Order No. 2616802) can be used two or three times more. Wash out gently
under running water before reinsertion so that some of the bacteria that have colonised it
remain.
When changing the SUBSTRAT pro, mix approx. one third of the used 昀椀lter medium with

the new material so that the bacteria cultures multiply more rapidly.

Wash out the 昀椀lter container then push the 昀椀lter inserts back in. Press the bottom one on
to the base runners and make sure the other 昀椀lter inserts 昀椀t tightly. Then lay a new 昀椀lter
pad on the top 昀椀lter insert. To do this, the handle must be pushed in. Lay the lattice screen
on top and insert the pre昀椀lter.
Attention:

Check the upper edge of the 昀椀lter and the gasket in the upper part of the 昀椀lter for soiling
and damage. If need be, replace the gasket. Spray upper edge of container lightly with
EHEIM Care Spray (Order No. 4001000), replace upper part of 昀椀lter and close all four clips.
Place 昀椀lter in cabinet.

Reinsert safety adapter (see step 17).
Check all hose connections at regular intervals to make sure they 昀椀t properly.
Note:

For the container to 昀椀ll with water, water circulation is reinstated by pressing the primer
several times. Then plug into the mains to begin operation.
The priming system only works when the pre昀椀lter is empty.

Cleaning the hoses
Clean hoses regularly with an EHEIM universal cleaning brush (Order No. 4005570).
Cleaning the pump chamber
Open pump cover by turning the sealing ring and remove.
