8.1 Cleaning
WARNING! RISK OF DEATH
DUE TO ELECTRIC SHOCK!
If the energised device comes into
contact with water, there is a risk of
seri ous injury or death!
You should therefore observe the
following safety instructions:
Switch off the device and disconnect
the power cord (D) from the power
supply.
Do not immerse the device in water
or spray or clean it with water. The
device must be protected against
moisture. However, if the device does
fall into water, immediately unplug
the mains plug. Never reach into the
water if the device is still connected!

Troubleshooting
Faults usually occur if the device has not been handled, cared for or maintained properly. The
following table contains the most common faults and remedies to eliminate these faults. If
you have any other problems, please contact your nearest service centre authorised by the
manufacturer, or your nearest authorised specialist dealer.
Fault
The device is switched on, the
spike-tooth discs do not rotate.
The device is switched on but the
spike-tooth discs come to a halt
when making soil contact.
The device blocks when in use.
The tines of the spike-tooth discs
are loose, bent, worn.
Clean the outside of the device with a
damp cloth or soft brush. Do not use
abrasives or harsh cleaning agents.
Ensure that the ventilation slots are
free of dirt.
Switch the device off if clods of earth or
plant residue should become trapped in
the tines when working with the device.
Hold the device as close to the soil as
possible and allow it to start up briefly.
The soiling loosens itself as a result of the
oscillating rotational movement. Remove
residue manually if necessary.
Only use original GLORIA spare parts
for repairs.
Repairs must be carried out by a
GLORIA service point.
Remedy
Check whether the power supply is interrupted, the
extension cable is fully in order and the mains socket
conducts electricity. Please contact your stockist or
GLORIA-Service direct if this does not solve the pro-
blem.
Inspect the screwed connections and the retainer of the
spike-tooth disc. Please contact your stockist or GLORIA-
Service direct if this does not solve the problem.
A blocking of the motor results in the clutch slipping.
The device can be immediately restarted after the cause
of the blocking has been removed. If the clutch slips too
often, you should alter you working method as the
mechanical components could otherwise be damaged.
The spike-tooth discs can wear. For a safe use of the
device and a good working result, it is important that
they be replaced when they are worn. For the replace-
ment of the spike-tooth discs please contact your sto-
ckist or GLORIA-Service direct.
