Troubleshooting
Possible cause
Mains fuse defective
Neutral conductor, mains phase missing
System error
Ground cable not connected or defective
Electrode holder or welding torch not con-
nected or defective
Possible cause
No or bad ground contact
Wrong electrode diameter
Welding current set too low
Tungsten electrode contaminated or incor-
rectly ground
Gas flow rate set incorrectly
Gas cylinder empty
Pressure reducer defective
Gas valve on welding torch not open or
defective
Welding torch leaking
Gas hose not securely connected
Pressure reducer incorrectly set or defective
Welding torch leaking
Gas nozzle not securely connected
Torch head defective
Workpiece soiled with grease, rust, oil, etc.
Draughts
No gas supply
Wrong gas
Welding current set too high for electrode
diameter
Poles reversed and TIG torch connected to
+ve pole [4]
Remedy
Replace the fuse
Check mains cable/mains extension cable
Switch off the machine, wait until the Mains
LED [10] goes out, then switch on the
machine again.
If the fault persists, contact Service
Check the ground cable and replace, if
necessary
Check the electrode holder or welding torch
and replace, if necessary
Leave the machine switched on and allow to
cool down.
Remedy
Ensure a good ground contact
Select the right electrode diameter
Set welding current higher
Grind correctly or replace the electrode, if
necessary
Set gas flow rate correctly
Replace the gas cylinder
Check, replace if necessary
