13. V-Mix
A V-mixer is available to you on this system for the operation of delta wing models and model
planes with V-tails.
The V-mixer couples the functions of the two servos on Channels 1 & 2 (in Mode 2: ailerons and
elevators).
This mixer can be switched on and off using the DIL Switch 5.
Delta wings
Since delta wing models do not have an elevator, Channels 1 & 2 on the right control lever are each connected with
an aileron servo.
The elevator functions can be achieved by mixing the servo control directions appropriately.
When the control lever is moved forward and backward, the servos run in parallel and both ailerons deflect in the
same direction. As a result, the model executes a nick motion about its lateral axis. This corresponds to the function
of an elevator.
When the control lever is moved sideways, the aileron servos respond in the opposite direction. The ailerons thus
bring about a rolling motion about the longitudinal axis of the model. This corresponds to the normal function of the
right control lever (ailerons).
Model planes with V-tails
To use the system with a model plane with a V-tail, the V-tail assembly servos have to be plugged
to Channels 1 & 2!
With a V-tail assembly, the two rudder flaps, which are usually at 90° to one another, are treated like one rudder and
one elevator and thus assigned to receiver Channels 1 & 2. For the servos to work correspondingly, the rudder flaps
have to be mixed together as for a delta wing.
Mixing the rudder flaps in the opposite directions induces a turning motion of the model about its vertical axis. This
corresponds to the function of a rudder.
With a parallel direction of the servos, the model reacts with a motion about its lateral axis. This corresponds to the
elevator function.
Stick-mode programming
By reprogramming the stick mode, it is possible for you to put the rudder function and elevator function on the left
control lever (Mode 3) or distribute them on both control levers (Modes 1 & 4) as well as to put the function of the
aileron on the right control lever (Modes 3 & 4).
