General information
This eye protection visor against projections can be used for outdoor work and/or work in
heights. This visor protects against particle projections launched at high speed at extreme
temperatures (-5°C to +55°C), low energy impact (F = 45m/s). It is intended to be used on the
ABUS safety helmets SPECTOR, SPECTOR-E, SCATOR, SCATOR-E. This visor may only be used for its
intended purpose. Any modification to the product is prohibited. This visor must not be used
outside the intended scope or in any situation other than that for which it has been certified
(e.g., protection against molten metal or electrical arcs). Note that materials in contact with
the wearer's skin may cause allergies in sensitive individuals. Also, a high-speed particle pro-
jectile protection visor, when worn over conventional ophthalmic frame glasses, may cause
impacts posing a danger to the user.
Visor assembly
To ensure effective protection, it is crucial to correctly attach the visor to the helmet, thereby
ensuring maximum safety. The visor should be adjusted to fit the user and positioned to
minimize any entry of external elements that could cause injury to the eye.
The visor (picture 1) fit the following ABUS helmet models SPECTOR, SPECTOR-E, SCATOR, SCA-
TOR-E. Please note that there are different adapters. Therefore, please select the correct visor
for the appropriate model – the suitable adapters are included with the visor.
Identify the right or left adapter (Letter R for the right one, letter L for the left one), located
behind each clip. Insert the adapter into the designated slot and press until you hear a click,
confirming it is securely attached (picture 2). Repeat this operation on the other side. Both
adapters are now firmly attached to the helmet shell.
Attach the visor to the clips by aligning the visor's pins with the corresponding slots on the
clips (picture 3). The visor can be positioned in the low position or in the high position, cor-
responding to the working or the storage position (picture 4). To remove the visor, press the
button on the clips (picture 5), and gently remove the pin from the clip.
Care and maintenance
Remove the visor from the helmet. Clean the visor only with water and mild soap. Allow
to dry away from direct sunlight in an environment not exceeding +30°C. Absolutely avoid
using chemical detergents, solvents, gasoline, or abrasive products, as these products could
damage the structural integrity of the visor. Never wipe the screen when it is dry. Attention:
cleaning the visor with water may damage any surface treatment applied to the screen.

Transport and storage
Store the visor in a warm, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Place the visor in the storage
position on your helmet. Use the visor protection accessory (only for SPECTOR, SPECTOR-E)
provided or store your helmet with your visor in a ABUS helmet textile bag. When the visor
is not in use and during transportation, it is advisable to keep it out of direct sunlight and
away from heat sources. Do not apply stickers, solvents, labels, or paint that do not meet the
manufacturer's specifications. Avoid any crushing of the visor. Any modification is prohibi-
ted. Repairs may only be made by the manufacturer. Only use spare parts provided by the
manufacturer.
Lifespan
This visor has a limited lifespan and should be replaced as soon as the first signs of wear, im-
pact, or if it is scratched or damaged appear. Please check regularly for any visible damage to
your visor. We recommend replacing your visor after a lifespan of 5 years from the production
date indicated on the visor.
Other Information
If protection against high-speed particles at extremes of temperatures is required then the
selected eye-protector should be marked with the letter T immediately after the impact letter,
FT, BT or AT. If the impact letter is not followed by the letter T then the eye protector shall be
used against high-speed particles at room temperature.
