Lighting the Nerone Cooker
Lighting the Nerone Cooker is not difficult. Af-
ter a first try this will be very easy.
There are several safe methods:
Using a newspaper: Start by tightly crumpling
3-4 sheets and place them in the bottom of
the fire box, then place 2 or 3 handfuls of lump
charcoal on top of the newspaper. Open the
bottom draft door and light the newspaper.
Once lit, close the dome and fully open the top
vent. Allow the Nerone Cooker to reach the de-
sired temperature.

It is best to use natural lump charcoal for the
Nerone Cooker. This will give the food a won-
derful taste because it is a natural product.
Lump charcoal lights faster and burns hotter
than briquettes.
Because there are no additives or fillers in
natural lump charcoal, there is very little ash
remaining after the coals burn. This is a big
advantage and makes cleaning much easier.
Use a charcoal chimney, an electric charcoal
starter, or paraffin starter blocks.
Important note: Do not use starter fluid or "in-
stant light" briquettes. These will give an un-
pleasant flavor to your food and also affect the
ceramic material of the Cooker.
