10. Getting the model ready for driving
Repeat the following steps before each drive:
1. Look at your model's mechanical condition.
- See 10.1 Checking the mechanical condition on page 24.
2. Check the drive battery status and charge it if necessary.
- See 9. Charging the battery on page 22.
3. Check the transmitter battery status and charge/replace if necessary.
- See transmitter operating instructions for details.
4. Connect the drive battery to the model and turn on the speed controller:
- See 10.2 Connecting the drive battery and turning on the speed controller on page 25.
5. Go through a function check before you set off.
- See 10.3 Function check on page 25.
10.1 Checking the mechanical condition
Important:
• Do not use a power screw driver to install screws in nylon or plastic materials to avoid breaking the molded
parts or strip the threads during.
• Only use genuine spare parts for maintenance and repair work.
• Occasional maintenance work and repairs are required to ensure safe use (e.g. the tyres may become
worn).
Check your model's condition before driving:
• Make sure all four wheels rotate freely.
• Make sure all four tyres are undamaged.
• Check that screws are tight before driving and tighten as necessary.
• Repair structural damage before driving again.
• Repair/replace damaged electrical/electronic components before driving again.
