8. Inserting or Replacing Batteries
If you want to use batteries, disconnect any connected mains unit from the keyboard and pull the
low-voltage plug from the socket (22) on the rear of the keyboard.
• Open the battery compartment on the back of the keyboard. First turn out the first screws for the battery
compartment lid, then remove the battery compartment lid.
• Insert 6 batteries of type AA/mignon into the battery compartment in the correct polarity. Observe the
figure in the battery compartment.
Rechargeable batteries can be used (also see chapter 5), but the lower voltage and capacity of
rechargeable batteries reduces the maximum playing time; there may be distortions at higher
volumes.
Therefore, we recommend either using high-quality alkaline batteries or an external mains unit
(neither enclosed, can be ordered separately).
• Insert the battery compartment lid again so that it latches; then turn in the screw that you removed at
first.
• A battery replacement is required if the keyboard cannot be switched on anymore.
If you do not use the keyboard for an extended period (e.g. at storage), take the batteries from the battery
compartment. Otherwise, the batteries may leak and damage the battery compartment or the keyboard.
9. Connection of an External Mains Unit
Instead of batteries/rechargeable batteries, the keyboard can also be operated with an external mains unit
(not enclosed, can be ordered separately).
It must have a stabilised output voltage of 9 V/DC and an output current of at least 350 mA. The
inner contact of the low-voltage plug (round plug, outer diameter 5.5 mm, inner diameter 2.1 mm)
must conduct plus/+, the outer contact minus/-.
• First switch off the keyboard and take out any inserted batteries or rechargeable batteries.
• Plug the round plug of the external mains unit into the corresponding socket (22) on the rear of the key-
board. The plug the external mains unit into a mains socket.
The mains socket for the mains unit must be close to the keyboard and easily accessible.
• Then you may switch on the keyboard.
