• Before changing the measuring range, the current jaw is to be re-
moved from the object being measured (current rail, conductor,
etc.).
• Before each change of range, the current clamp is to be re-
moved from the object being measured (current rail, conduc-
tor, etc.).
• Before each measurement, check the unit and its cables for da-
mage.
• Only use the test leads supplied with the measuring instrument.
o use Measuring leads, measuring instrument. No others may be
used.
• To avoid electric shock, care should be taken that the test pro-
bes and the connections / current rails (measurement points) are
not touched during measurement, not even indirectly.
• The maximum voltage to earth inc. the measured voltage may in
no case exceed 1000 VDC or VAC rms (in CAT II).
• During every measurement, above all when measuring current,
avoid high humidity and steam. While performing measurements
the hands, shoes and the floor must without fail be dry.
• Currents > 1000 A may lead to damage to the current clamp. Ta-
ke care that only one (1) single insulated cable (57 mm max. dia-
meter) is enclosed when making measurements. Measurement
of multi-core single-phase cables is not possible.
If, in contrast, two or more insulated cables (total diameter 57 mm
max.) of a multiphase system are enclosed, then the value indica-
ted corresponds to the vector sum of the individual currents.
