8. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

8.1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING THE BATTERY

The CRATONI C-SAFE CRASH SENSOR is operated with a cell battery; please observe all safety
instructions in this manual. Strong heat development of the battery may lead to explosion, fire
or serious injuries.
• High temperatures such as long direct solar radiation or the use and storage of the crash sensor
inside a car may lead to strong heat developments which may cause damage at the crash sensor,
burns at the head and neck or combustion, bursting or explosion of the battery.
• The battery performance will get worse in the course of time if the device is not used for a longer
period of time.
• The battery must not be disposed of in the domestic waste; it must be
separately collected and disposed of according to the local regulations.
• Do not ingest the battery, chemical burn hazard.
The product contains a coin/button battery. If the coin/button is swallowed, it can cause severe
internal burns in just 2hours and can lead to death.
If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from
children, if you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body,
seek immediate medical attention.

8.2 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING THE PRODUCTS

Observe all safety instructions in this manual. If you do not observe the safety instructions
carefully, this may lead to damage at the product.
• The product must not be disposed of in the domestic waste. The product must be disposed of
according to the local regulations.
• After use, allow your crash sensor to air dry and store in a cool, dry place. Otherwise, the
electronics might be damaged.
• The crash sensor can be seriously damaged by high temperatures of over 65°C, for example, if left
in direct sunlight in a car. Changes to the housing surface or blistering are signs of heat damage.
Do not use a crash sensor that has these kinds of changes!
• Only clean your crash sensor with a soft damp cloth. Changes to the crash sensor, in particular the
application of paints and stickers, the removal of interior stickers (warning notices, identification
coding) or the use of aggressive cleaning agents, chemicals and solvents, may impair the
