TECHNIQUE
3-SPEED HUB
1. Set the gear change to position 3 [14].
2. To be certain that the hub is also in
third gear, move the pedals backwards and
forwards a few times.
3. Slide the cable holder so far over the
pin that the gear change chain is just not
too tight [15].
4. Then check that the gears work cor-
rectly. If they do not, then press the holder
button (cable releases) and try
again
NEXUS 4 OR 7-SPEED HUB
1. Set the gear change to position 4 [16].
2. Check if the red markings on the change
unit (near the rear wheel, on the chain
case side) are opposite each other. Stand
behind the bicycle. To see the red mark-
ings you should push the rear piece of the
chain case a little to the left with your
thumb [17].
3. If they are not opposite, set the position
with the setting screw on the change unit

WHEELS
LIGHT AND STRONG
A bicycle wheel is a fine piece of technolo-
gy. The rim, hub and spokes together form
(in combination with the rim tape,
inner tube and tyre) an extremely light yet
strong wheel. It is the most important part
that ensures that the bicycle is pleasant
to ride. There are various aspects that are
important for light running such as, tyres
pumped up correctly, taut spokes and a
properly adjusted hub free from play. You
can look after the first point, the other two
will be in good hands at a specialist.
SPOKES
Spokes are an important part of your
wheels. If they are set too slack the stabil-
ity of the bicycle can be influenced nega-
tively. Tightening the spokes is very precise
work. This is why you should have it done
by a specialist
IMPORTANT
● The spokes should be adjusted for the
first time a few weeks after acquisition.
● Is the wheel running out of true or has
it loose spokes. Just go to a specialist. He
will solve it quickly, which will
prevent further damage to the wheel
● Ask a specialst regularly to check the
tension of the spokes.
