2. Getting started

2.1 Adjusting the bike

Adjust the saddle height and handlebar position
according to your preference in order to get the
most out of your new bike.
• Adjust the height of your stem using the spacers
supplied with the bike. Ask your dealer to adjust
your position.
• When adjusting the saddle height, you feet
should not touch the ground when you are sitting
on the saddle.
• When placing your foot on the pedal at its lowest
point, your knee should be slightly bent.

2.1.1 Fitting the pedals

If you ever need to remove your pedals, be aware
that on the inside of your pedal you will find an R
and an L. The R pedal should be fitted on the right
(the side with the chainring(s)). The L pedal should
be fitted on the left (the side without a chainring)
Remember when attaching the pedals:
To tighten the right pedal, turn clockwise
To tighten the left pedal, turn anti-clockwise

2.1.2 Adjusting the saddle

The first thing you can adjust is the height of the
saddle. Your reseller may help you do this. If the
position of the saddle feels uncomfortable, please
do adjust it. An incorrect position can actually
cause medium and long-term injuries.
The height of the saddle can be adjusted by
unscrewing the seat clamp with a 5mm.
The recommended tightening torque is 5 Nm.
N.B., all seat posts have a minimum insertion
level which is indicated on the post ("min" or
"stop"). It is not a good idea to pull the saddle
higher than this limit to guarantee your safety.
Once the height of the seat has been adjusted, you
can change its angle. We recommend starting with
the seat horizontal and adjusting it to suit you.
Find your correct saddle height.
For bikes with telescopic seat posts, adjustment
must be made with the seat post in the high
position.
1. Sit on your bike while holding onto a wall at the
same time.
2. Place the pedal at the lowest point on the side
opposite the wall.
3. Place your heel on the pedal. Your leg should be
straight. Your pelvis should not tilt to the side.
4. If your leg isn't straight when your heel is on the
pedal, raise the saddle. Lower the saddle if you
cannot reach the pedal.
