Wood types and storage
All types of clean, cut and dry wood can be used as fuel. Hard woods such as oak, beech and birch burn slowly, give off a lot of heat
and easily become charcoal. Softer woods such as spruce, pine and poplar give more flame, but less heat and less charcoal.
Wood is best stored in a windy place, protected from the rain. That way the wood will dry naturally. Stack the logs on an old pallet
or grid. This will also allow the wood to dry from the bottom and prevent the lower logs from coming into contact with water.

The Linde can only be fired with wood.
Do not use more than 1-1.5 kg fuel in the stove at a time. Always use clean, dry timber. For drying times, see the table above. Wet
wood burns poorly and produces more smoke. This can cause the glass of the stove to turn black. Soot particles can also stick to
the flue pipe, increasing the risk of a chimney fire.Fresh wet wood has a moisture content of about 50%. Even after a year of drying,
split wood still has a moisture content of 20%. After two years of drying, the moisture content drops from 12 - 15%. Dry wood burns
easily and produces little to no smoke. Dry wood crackles and pops while it burns, while wet wood produces a hissing sound, lots
of smoke and little to no flames. Using wet wood makes the stove significantly less efficient and enjoyable to use.
Do not use wax-based logs in your stove. With the door closed, the paraffin wax will melt from the logs too quickly due to the high
heat. The polluted flue gases produced as a result will immediately precipitate on the glass of the stove door and permanently
burn into the glass. Do not use wood that has been painted, glued or treated in any other way. The fumes are very harmful to the
environment and can damage your stove. It is also forbidden to burn plastics and other waste due to the toxic smoke which will be
produced.
