• Briefly press the TEST OK button (3) to start a length measurement. The measured result is
shown on the LC display (4).
• To delete a result after measuring, press the EXIT
Always check the measured results by performing a reverse test from the other end
of the cable. This applies in particular when large length differences are displayed for
individual lines of data cables.
a) Adjusting the speed factor (VOP)
You can adjust the speed factor (VOP) before measuring from the two cable test menus (see
'Testing a coax cable' and 'Testing a data cable').
The local conditions of the cable have an influence on the speed factor. Whether a
cable is rolled onto a roll or unrolled is an influencing factor for example, as are other
cables nearby. Another influencing factor is deformation to the cable sleeve (crushing,
etc.), which may change the impedance at certain points (the wires are farther apart
or closer together). In order to compensate for these and other deviations, you can
manually adjust the speed factor (VOP). For manual adjustment of the speed factor
(VOP), proceed as follows:
• Press and hold the SET button (7) until the displayed speed factor value (VOP) (top right of
the LC display (4)) is highlighted.
• Press the
(1) or
gradually (0.1% increments).
• Briefly press the TEST OK button (3) to confirm adjustment of the speed factor. The display
on the LC display (4) switches back.
