Proceed as follows to measure mixed 'A
- Switch the DMM on and select the measuring function '10 A', 'mA' or 'µA'.
- Press the 'MODE' button twice to switch to combined AC+DC mode.
- The display switches to combined AC+DC display mode. The main display indicates the mixed current value. The
individual DC and AC current components are displayed on the small sub-displays.
- For measurement range selection and the measuring connection, proceed as for direct or alternating current
measurement.
- Press the button again to switch to DC display mode, etc..
The respective polarity of the DC voltage measured value is displayed on the lower DC display only.
d) Alternating current measurement with clamp-on ammeter adapter
The DMM can carry out non-contact alternating current measurement with an optional clamp-on ammeter. To do this,
the circuit must not be interrupted or disconnected.
The clamp-on ammeters must be connected to the high-impedance voltage input. Clamp-on ammeters with a meas-
urement range of 30, 300 or 3000 A/AC and an alternating voltage output can be used for the measurement.
Do not exceed the maximum permitted input values under any circumstances. Do not touch any
circuits or circuit components if the circuit has voltages higher than 33 V/AC RMS or 70 V/DC.
Danger of death!
If the clamp-on ammeter is applied to a dangerous contact circuit, personal protective equipment
must be used.
Always follow the operating instructions and safety information for the clamp-on ammeter.
