Interface X04 - Encoder
An encoder converts a shaft rotation to pulses. These pulses provide the control box with informa-
tion about the speed of the substrate to be printed on. An encoder is used as soon as the TT-53 series
is used in continuous mode. Based on the information from the encoder, the printer can bring the
ribbon to the same speed (during printing) as the substrate. The print head can also adjust to the
right firing speed, based on this encoder information.
