SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• To stimulate the carotid sinus
nerves, particularly in patients
with a known sensitivity to the
carotid sinus reflex.
• To stimulate your front neck
or mouth, because this could
cause severe muscle spasms
resulting in closure of your
airway, difficulty in breathing,
or adverse effects on heart
rhythm or blood pressure.
• Across your chest because
the effect of electrical current
on the heart may cause cardi-
ac arrhythmias.
DO NOT USE ON THESE
INDIVIDUALS
• Children or infants, because
the device has not been eva-
luated for pediatric use.
• People who have lost their
mental capacity.
• Pregnant women.
DO NOT USE THIS DEVICE DURING
THESE ACTIVITIES
• When in the bath or shower.
• While sleeping.
• While driving, operating
machinery, or any activity
which might cause involuntary
muscle contractions that may
put the user at undue risk of
injury.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
REGARDING THE PADS
• Apply pads to normal, healthy,
dry, clean skin only. Do not
apply pads to wounds or da-
maged skin because that may
disrupt the healing process.
• If you experience any skin ir-
ritation or redness after using
this device, do not continue
to stimulate in that area of the
skin until it returns to normal.
• Both of the pads in a set must
be placed on the body at the
same time in order to work.
Make sure the pads are not
touching each other because
otherwise no impulses will be
felt.
PRECAUTIONS
• If you feel discomfort or
abnormal symptoms during
treatment, stop using the
device and consult a doctor
before resuming treatment.
• If you wish to move the elec-
trodes to another location of
your body during a treatment

then move the electrodes and
resume treatment.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
service and report anything
unusual. Do not try to repair
the device yourself.
• Keep the device out of the
reach of infants, children or
pets. Any inhalation or swal-
lowing of small parts is dan-
gerous and can be potentially
fatal.
• Only use accessories that
have been specified or au-
thorized by the manufacturer.
The use of unauthorized ac-
cessories may cause damage
to the device or danger to the
user.
• Long cables have the poten-
tial to strangulate. Be careful
when using cables around the
neck and shoulder areas.
• Do not bend or fold the pads,
as this may cause the pads to
malfunction.
• Always store the pads on the
transparent protective film
when not in use.
• Do not apply any solvent
or any other liquids (except
water) to the pads or to your
skin because these will cau-
se the pads not to stick and
to malfunction. The pads are
pre-gelled and will adhere to
your skin when moist.
• Do not use the device in are-
as of high humidity, such as
the bathroom or in the sho-
wer, as this may damage it.
• Do not attach the electrode to
the same area of the skin for
longer than 40 minutes each
time, as this may cause skin
irritation.
• During treatment ensure that
metallic items with conductive
capabilities, such as neckla-
ces, belts and rings, are kept
away from the electrodes.
• Make sure the wires are
properly plugged into the de-
vice and connected and that
the pads are stuck tightly onto
the skin area you wish to treat
to ensure effective therapy.
• If using rechargeable 1.5 V
batteries, make sure you
use a CE approved battery
charger. Never connect the
device directly to a battery
charger or to other powered
equipment.
• The simultaneous connection
of a patient to high frequency
surgical equipment may result
in burns where Pain Therapy
Device electrodes have been
attached and possibly dama-
ge the Pain Therapy Device.
