18. Preface and preparation
Foreword
a) Read the instructions carefully. Familiarize yourself with the controls and proper use of the device
b) Never allow children or other persons who are not familiar with using the lawnmower device. Local
regulations may limit the age of the operator
c) Never mow when persons, especially children or pets, are in the vicinity
d) Remember that the user is responsible for accidents and damage to other people or property
e) The user must be adequately trained in the use, adjustment, and operation (including prohibited
operations).
Preparation
a) Always wear sturdy shoes and long pants when mowing. Do not operate the device if you are
barefoot or wearing sandals
b) Thoroughly check the areas where the device is to be used and remove any objects (such as stones,
toys, sticks, wires, etc.) that could be whirled up through the device
WARNING

- Fuel is highly flammable
- Store the oil in appropriate and designated containers
- Only fill the tank outdoors and never smoke when filling the device
- Fill up with fuel before starting the device. Never remove the cap of the fuel tank or fill it up while the
engine is still running
- If fuel is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine under any circumstances, but move the device away
from this location. Do not start the engine until the fuel vapors have evaporated
- Close all fuel tank and container caps securely.
- For safety reasons, the fuel tank and other tank caps must be replaced if damaged
d) Replace defective silencers
e) Visually inspect the device before checking that the blades, bolts, and blade attachments are not
worn or damaged. Replace worn or damaged bolts and blades in sets.
Check the device regularly and make sure that all start latches and push buttons work correctly before
each use.
