Leave the work area before taking the hood off.

Maintenance and inspection

Personnel who are responsible for maintenance of the equipment shall be trained and
well acquainted with this type of work.
5.1
Cleaning & Disinfection
5.1.1
Cleaning
After each session clean the facepiece, using a mixture of water and a mild detergent (for
example. EW 80 der Fa. Tremonia Chemie,. Dortmund). Subsequently, rinse thoroughly
with clean water. (Do not use any solvents). The face seal of the T-AirVisor (Combi) and
T-AirVisor Combi can be washed in a washing machine, using a soft detergent at 30 °C.
Using a disinfectant, (e.g. incidin Rapid from Ecolab) clean the inner surfaces of the
facepiece. For reasons of hygiene, the facepiece should preferably be worn by the same
person. Finally, use a dry cloth to dry all the metal components, so avoiding corrosion.
Replace parts that are corroded. When cleaning, take care not to inhale hazardous matter
that is released during the cleaning.
The T-AirHood 1000 M, CHEM 1 and CHEM3 are semi disposable hoods, which means it
can be thrown away after intensive use with the exception of the headband with airduct.
5.1.2
Disinfection
Disinfect the headband and change the sweatband after every use to maintain a hygienic
condition. Immerse the headband and airduct in the disinfectant. Use i.e. incidin Rapid
disinfecting agent. Rinse and leave to dry.
5.2
Maintenance
Check the facepiece, shell, visor and accessories for cracks, deformations or other
damages, as well as wear. Check also that the facepiece fits correctly.
Replace scratched or damaged parts.
5.2.1
Maintenance schedule
The schedule below shows the minimum requirements on maintenance routines to
assure the user that the equipment will always be in usable condition.

5.2.2
Replacing the visor, browgard, face seal
T-AirVisor (Combi),
The visor, browgard and face seal of the T-AirVisor/can be exchanged, after removal of
several fixing parts.
Place a maximum of 3 disposable visors on the visor clamps, then, draw the visors tight
against the main visor.
5.2.3
Replacing the hood of the 61406X T-AirHood 1000 M/CHEM1 and CHEM3
To change the hood release the two press-studs at the side of the visor.
Pull the hood off the headband with airduct.
Insert the head harness into the hood and secure it with the two press-studs at the side
of the visor.
Push the back of the airduct through the passage at the rear of the hood. After the hose
has been inserted, the head harness should be the right way up in the hood.
Insert the hose coupling between the reinforcement lips in the hose passage of the hood,
and secure it with the press-stud.
5.3

Spare parts

Use only genuine RSG spare parts. Do not modify the equipment.
The use of false parts or any modifications made to the equipment may reduce the
protective function and will compromise the approvals.

Storage

After cleaning, store the equipment in a dry and clean area, within the range of -10
+50
C. Humidity levels up to 95% RH. Avoid direct sunlight.
