• Function # 5, green LED flashes briefly five times: Maximum Braking Force
The speed controller provides a proportional braking force according to the position of the lever on the
transmitter. The maximum braking force at full scale is adjustable between 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.
A high setting (e.g. 100%) reduces the braking distance, but has a negative impact on the life of the gears
(pinion, spur gear and differentials).
Resetting the Speed controller
Using this function, all settings you have made in the setup of the speed controller are reset to the factory
setting.
• Turn on the transmitter. Release the control lever for the drive/brake function in the neutral position, do not
move it.
• Turn on the speed controller. The vehicle should now be ready for operation and no LED is lit up on the
speed controller.
• Press and hold the setup button until the red and green LEDs flash simultaneously.
• Turn off the speed controller. All settings are then reset to the initial settings, see the grey boxes in the
table.
Operational Information
• If the control lever for the drive/brake function is pushed directly from forward to reverse drive, the brake of
the speed controller is activated (vehicle does NOT move backwards!). While the vehicle is still moving, set
the control lever from reverse to neutral position and then back to reverse. Then, the motor (if the reverse
function is enabled) start to run backwards.
This type of driving style leads to increased wear of gears and tyres. Moreover, the power consumption is
higher and thus the journey time lesser. For this reason, we recommend restarting the journey only after
the model comes to a standstill.
• In case of failure of the transmitter signal or when leaving the transmitter range, the speed controller
switches off the motor.
• If the battery cut-off voltage is reached, the vehicle stops. Stop the operation of the vehicle to avoid intense
discharge and thus any damage to the battery.
• The speed controller shuts off at excess temperature of the speed controller and upon a motor blockade.
In this case, you must stop operation immediately and check the motor or the drive for smooth operation.
Also check whether the speed controller gets sufficient airflow (cooling air). The speed controller will work
as usual after cooling or after removing the motor blockade.
• If the speed controller / motor does not work or movements on the control lever for the drive/brake function
do not allow motor start, turn off the speed controller. Then check the neutral position of the transmitter. Set
the trim control for the drive function to the centre position, release the throttle lever (or bring it back to the
centre position). Check whether the transmitter is turned on and that the normal / rechargeable batteries
of the transmitter and vehicle are fully charged.
Stopping the Operation
• Turn off the speed controller first (move the switch to the „OFF" position).
• Disconnect the battery pack from the speed controller.
• Turn off the transmitter now.
Troubleshooting
• The speed controller does not work and the fan is not running.
Check the drive battery pack and the wiring between the battery pack and the speed controller.
• The speed controller does not work and emits two beeps in a recurring sequence. Simultaneously,
the green LED flashes.
The voltage of the drive battery pack is too high or too low.
• The speed controller does not work and the fan is running.
Check the remote control function. For testing purposes, the speed controller may be disconnected from
the receiver and connected to a servo and receiver battery pack instead. It can be checked whether the
remote control is working properly.
• The motor stops suddenly.
Either the model is outside the transmitter range and receives a control signal from the receiver or the
low-voltage shutdown of the speed controller has responded.
• The motor does not respond properly to the control commands of the transmitter.
Check all cables and connections for line breaks or loose connections. Program the factory settings and
save the endpoints for forward-reverse drive as well as the neutral position again.
Run the model at another location for testing purposes to exclude any external influence.
Maintenance and Care
Although the speed controller is dust and waterproof and could be operated for a short time underwater wit-
hout a fan in extreme cases, we recommend removal of any dirt and moisture with a soft cloth after operating
the vehicle. Allow the controller that may have become wet to dry well.
Dust and dirt that were drawn in by the fan can be easily removed with a brush. The four screws on the fan
cover must be removed and the fan dismantled for this.
Disposal
