The term "power tool" as used in
the safety advice refers to elec-
trical tools powered by mains
electricity (with mains lead) and
electrical tools powered by re-
chargeable batteries (without
mains lead)!
1) Work area
a) Keep your work area clean
and well lit. Untidy or poorly
lit working areas can result in
accidents.
b) Do not use the power tool
in potentially explosive
environments containing
flammable liquids, gases
or dusts. Power tools create
sparks which can ignite dusts
or fumes.
c) Keep children and other
people away while you are
operating the power tool.
Distractions can cause you to
lose control of the equipment.
2) Electrical safety
a) The mains plug on the pow-
er tool must fit the mains
socket. Never modify the
plug in any way. Never use
adapter plugs with earthed
