Name plate: symbols - explanation
Double insulation. Double insulated cables minimise the risk of electrical shock.
For indoor use. Indicates that placing the product outdoors is not allowed.
Read operator's manual. To indicate that the operator's manual or card should be
read before continuing the operation.
Rated duty cycle. Maximum activation time (time on) followed by a minimum
deactivation time (time off) necessary for the safe operation of the furniture.
CE marking. Symbolises the conformity of the product with the applicable requirements
that the European Community places on the manufacturer.
UKCA marking. Used to symbolise the conformity of the product with the applicable
requirements that the United Kindom places on the manufacturer.
Recycling symbol. Indicates conformity with the regulations for Waste of Electrical and
Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and the Federal Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act
(ElektroG). Electrical and electronic products must be disposed of separately from
household waste at the end of their service life.
The CE and UKCA marking is located on the underside of the desktop and can be viewed
at any time.
3. Intended use
Intended use also includes following all instructions in the user guide.
The Solo Sit-to-Stand Desk is exclusively designed to be used as office furniture for both private and commercial
use. Any other use or use beyond the specified intended use is considered improper use.
Improper use of the product can result in a risk to life and limb or material damage. For these reasons, improper
use is prohibited. In the case of improper use, Steelcase assumes no liability for any damage that may occur and
does not guarantee that the components will function properly. Improper use includes:

4. Height adjustment
Optimum desk height
Adjustment to the optimum desk height (sitting height) is crucial for the correct sitting posture at
the workstation. The correct desk height setting for the workstation can be found in the
workstation analysis (pursuant to the German Occupational Safety and Health Act, the German VDU
Workplace Ordinance, or accident prevention regulations, for example). See also BGI 650:
