FAULTFINDING
If you find a problem please first try to
solve it with help of the following table:
No function:
-
The batteries are empty, replace
them.
Weak or no reception:
-
Batteries weak or empty, replace
batteries.
-
Channel setting wrong (Sender and
receiver should be on the same
channel).
-
CTCSS codes are not the same
(sender and transmitter should be set
on the same CTCSS code).
-
The distance between the transmitter
and receiver is too large, decrease
the distance.
Noise and other disturbing sounds:
-
Another transmitter is using this
channel, select another channel.
-
Disturbance from other equipment,
switch off if possible.
High whistling noise:
-
Transmitter too close to receiver,
increases the distance.
-
The volume of the receiver is too
loud, decrease volume.

MAINTANCE
Clean the FR-8 with a damp cloth
only.
Never place the transceiver in direct
sunlight or in a damp environment.
Prevent ingression of water or dirt in
the FR-8 when using outside.
When confronted with a malfunction,
first try to move to another location
and try again.
Remove the batteries when the set is
not used for a longer period.
WARNINGS
Check the functionality of the FR-8
each time before use. It is advisable
to do this also during the usage.
The FR-8 is a transceiver, which uses
radio frequencies in the 446 Mhz
band. Other wireless systems,
computers, wireless telephones, TV
and other systems can disturb the
signal. If your FR-8 is disturbed or is
disturbing other equipment please
switch to another channel.
When using batteries it is best to use
alkaline batteries.
When taking the FR-8 abroad, please
consult de restrictions for use of
PMR446 equipment in that specific
country.
Remember that your conversation
can be heard on other equipment as
well.
Empty batteries are to be
disposed of at your local
depot for chemical waste.
