A draining flex/fix connecting piece is available for a flexible connection.
Proceed as follows (see Appendix 2, Fig. 12a to 12c):
Ø
Pull the flexible pipe through the chimney.
Ø
Fix the draining flex/fix connecting piece using 3 self-tapping screws to the flexible pipe.
Ø
Push the flexible pipe including connecting piece back in the chimney.
Ø
Slide the fire into place.
Ø
Remove the flame baffle plate if this is already in the correct place in the top of the appliance (see paragraph
9.4.2).
Ø
Insert a hand through the flue hole and grasp the connecting piece handle.
Ø
Pull the flexible pipe with the connecting piece downwards.
Ø
Fasten the flexible connecting piece to the appliance with three bolts.
The handle in the flexible connecting piece (see Appendix 2, Fig. 12b) can be broken out after installation. This is
!Caution
not necessary but can be desirable for sweeping the chimney.
The draining flex/fix connecting piece can be used to make both a flexible or fixed connection.
Tip!
With a fixed connection the pipe material lowers fully into the connecting piece, with a flexible connection only
!Caution
half of it (see Appendix 2, Fig. 12c).
9.3.4 Air slide valve
With installation and maintenance of the appliance check the operation of the air slide valve
(see Appendix 2, Fig. 13). There is the possibility that steel grit entered the air slide valve during transport. If the air
slide valve does not move smoothly it must be cleaned. The air slide valve must be disassembled to do this.
The air slide valve is suspended sprung by means of a bolt and a spring located below the cover plate.
Proceed as follows when disassembling the air slide valve (see Appendix 2, Fig. 13):
Ø
Remove the vermiculite plates and the felt from the bottom (see section 9.4.1).
Ø
Remove the 5 cover plate socket screws from the bottom.
Ø
Remove the cover plate.
Ø
If there is an outside air connection remove the 2 screws from the front strip.
You only have to remove the front strip if an exterior connection is assembled.
!Caution
Ø
Remove the socket screw with spring.
Ø
Remove the air slide valve by bringing it towards you.
Ø
Check the air slide valve and clean it if necessary.
To replace the air slide valve proceed as described for removal in reverse order.
