3 Use
Before first use remove all packing material.
Remove any stickers or labels (if available)
from the appliance. Thoroughly clean the
appliance before first use, as indicated in the
cleaning chapter.
3.1 Before the first use
•
Take the appliance and accessories out the
box. Remove the stickers, protective foil
or plastic and blade protectors from the
device.

Before using your appliance for the first
time, wipe off all removable parts with a
damp cloth. Never use abrasive product.
3.2 Prepare for first use
•
Heat the unit four to five times at
the highest setting without bread, in
order to burn off residues left during
manufacturing process. Ensure proper
ventilation while doing this (say, by
opening the window).
3.3 Using the appliance
Caution: The bread slices and parts of the unit
are very hot during and immediately after the
toasting process.
Toasting bread
1. Place the bread slices in the bread slot
(1). Each bread slot (1) is designed for
maximum of one bread slice per roasting
operation.
2. Put the plug into the wall outlet.
3. Select the degree of browning by using the
browning control knob (5). The appliance
has 7 settings regarding the browning
process: 1= light brown until stage 7= well
done. Stage 3 is recommended for first use.
4. Push the toast lever (2) fully down, this will
latch automatically. The indication light of
the cancel button (3) will turn on and the
toasting process will begin.
5. The appliance will switch off by itself
automatically when the browning level
has been reached. The toast leaver (2) rises
automatically.
NOTE: The degree of browning can be
changed during the toasting process
by using the browning control knob (5).
The toasting can be cancelled at any
time during the toasting process by
pressing the cancel button (3).
Toasting frozen bread
This function gently defrosts frozen bread
and toasts it to the selected browning level.
1. Place the bread slices in the bread slot (1).
2. Set the degree of browning by using the
browning control knob (5).
