1 Instructions
This user manual is an integral part of the
appliance and must be therefore be kept in
its entirety and within the user's reach for
the whole working life of the appliance.
1.1 Intended use
This toaster is used for defrosting, reheat
and toasting bread. The toaster is intended
solely for private use and is not suitable for
use in a commercial setting.
1.2 General safety instructions
•
Read these instructions carefully before
use and keep them in a safe place.
•
The following symbols are used in this
manual or on the product:
The letters 'CE' appear on many
products traded on the extended
Single Market in the European
Economic Area (EEA). They signify that
products sold in the EEA have been
assessed to meet high safety, health,
and environmental protection
requirements.
A Caution Hot Surface Sign is a
warning message type of hazard sign
which is used for being displayed and
seen around areas where there is a
need to warn people about any hot
surfaces and the sign conveys the
message "Caution Hot Surface" that
means to warn of the dangers from
surfaces which are hot.
Earthing symbol. This appliance is
classified as protection class I and
must be connected to an earthed
mains socket.
Do not dispose of the product in
unsuitable containers.
1.3 Danger
•
Do not put the appliance or the plug in
water or any other liquid. However should
the appliance accidentally fall into water,

unplug the appliance immediately and
have it checked by a qualified person
before using it again. Non-observance
could cause a fatal electric shock!
•
Do not insert oversize foods and metal foil
packaging into the toaster, as this may
cause fire or electric shock.
1.4 Warning
•
Check if the voltage indicated on the
appliance corresponds to the local mains
voltage before you connect the appliance.
•
Do not use the appliance if the plug,
the mains cord or the appliance itself is
damaged.
•
If the mains cord is damaged, you must
have it replaced by FERM, a service centre
authorised by FERM or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
•
This appliance can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not
be made by children unless they are older
than 8 years and supervised.
•
Keep the appliance and its cord out of
reach of children less than 8 years.
•
Keep the mains cord away from hot
surfaces.
•
Only connect the appliance to an earthed
wall socket. Always make sure that the
plug is inserted into the wall socket
properly.
•
This appliance is not intended to be
operated by means of an external timer
or a separate remote-control system.
•
Do not place the appliance against a wall
or against other appliances. Leave at least
10cm free space on the back and sides
and 10cm free space above the appliance.
Do not place anything on top of the
appliance.
•
Do not use the appliance for any other
purpose than described in the user
manual.
•
