. Connecting an external playback device
You can use the A U X I N jack to connect an external playback device (for exam-
ple a CD player or MP3 player).
 Switch the CD/MP3/cassette player to standby mode.
 Switch off your external device.
 Plug the end of a 3.5 mm jack cable (not supplied with the device) into the A U X
I N socket on the rear of the CD MP3 cassette player.
 Connect the other end of the cable to the headphone output or the "Audio Out"
connection on your external playback device.
 Switch on your external device.
 Press the
/ F U N C . button on the device once or several times until you see
AUX in the display.
The audio signal from your external device can now be played back.
. Switching on the device/standby
 Press the
/ F U N C . button to switch on the device.
 Press the
/ F U N C . button again to select the desired operating mode (FM /
TAPE / CD / USB / AUX).
 Press and hold the
mode.
If there is no playback for 15 minutes, the devices automatically switches to standby
mode.
. Volume
 To adjust the volume, use the V O L + and V O L  buttons.
. Radio
 Press the
/ F U N C . button once or several times as required to switch to ra-
dio mode. FM is shown on the display at the bottom right and the STEREO sym-
bol at the top left (only for stereo reception).
.. Tuning the stations
 There is a telescopic aerial on the back of the device. Gently release the tip of the
aerial from the catch on the right hand side of the device. Then fully extend the
aerial and turn or swivel it for optimum radio reception.
 Press the  / T U N E  or  / T U N E + button briefly to set a particular fre-
quency. The setting is amended in 0.05 MHz intervals.
Hold down one of the buttons to automatically search for the next station.
