Chains come in various sizes with varying degrees of sharpening angles. Check with your chain manufacturer's manual to
determine what degree you need to sharpen at. Once the degree is set, lower the engine casing ④ so that the Grinding
Wheel ⑮ skims the chain tooth.
Set the chain stop
Lower the Chain Stop ⑭ so that it is positioned on the tooth (blade) you want to start with.
Tension the chain back against the chain stopper ⑭
Lower the Engine Casing ④ to check the amount of material you wish to remove.
Tighten or loosen the set screw ⑬ and set the Lock Nut
Once set, lock the chain on the vise turning the tightening screw ⑪ clockwise.
Set the lock wheel
Lower the engine casing④ to check how deep the grinding wheel ⑮ can be lowered
on the chain.
Hold it at that position while you tighten the the lock wheel ⑦ so that the grinding
wheel ⑮ will only go to that point.
3) Mise en marche
1. Put on your protective gear and make sure the immediate area is clear of bystanders.
2. Plug in the cable ⑤ and press the ON/OFF switch ③ to turn on the machine and hold
the switch down.
3. Slowly lower the grinding wheel. If you notice slight errors in your settings, turn off
the unit and unplug it before
you make your adjustments.
Note: A good grind occurs when the contact between the wheel and the teeth are gradual and smooth. Do not stop too long
time on each tooth.
4. After sharpening one tooth, turn off the machine by releaseing the ON/OFF switch. Lift the Engine Casing.
Tilt the chain stopper ⑭ back and let it rest in its open posi on.
Open the vise by turning the tightening screw ⑪ counterclockwise un l there is enough space to move the chain back.
Move the chain so that the next link is positioned in the chain stopper (remember to skip a link because the cutting angle is
alternating).
Tilt chain stopper ⑭ forward and let it stop just behind the sharpening link.
Close the vise ⑫ to lock the chain in this posi on by turning the ghtening screw ⑪ clockwise.
Continue to sharpen the other links with the defined angle.
