Operating panel, displays
and functions (Fig. II)
Button Menu/ancillary parameters [8]
Used to call the ancillary parameters.
7 segment display [9]
Indicates the selected welding current.
If ancillary parameters are selected, the code and
the set value of the ancillary parameter are dis-
played alternately.
Fault LED [10]
Lights up if the system overheats; striking of the arc
not possible.
Once the system is switched on, the LED flashes as
a self-test.
VRD LED [12]
Permanently lit if the VRD function is active (reduction
of the idle voltage). Flashes if the output voltage
exceeds the value permitted by the standard (e.g.
during welding).
Welding current rotary controller [13]
For stepless adjustment of the welding current.
CEL electrode LED [14]
Lights up in "CEL electrode" mode. (Electrodes with
cellulose coating, suitable for downhill welding)
Basic electrode LED [15]
Lights up in "electrode" mode.
(Electrodes with basic coating)
Electrode TIG LED [15]
Lights up when "TIG electrode" mode is selected.
Operating mode selector switch Electrode/
TIG [17]
The switch is used to select the operating mode
"Electrode" or "TIG". To select "TIG" mode, press the
button.

Electrode welding method

Connect the electrode welding cable

Connect the electrode welding cable to the –
ve [3] or +ve [4] socket and secure the cable by
turning clockwise.
The instructions of the electrode manufac-
turer must always be strictly observed!
Electrode welding with a positive (+)
electrode:
Connect the electrode holder to the positive (+)
socket [4] of the machine and secure it by turning
the connector clockwise.
Electrode welding with a negative (–)
electrode:
Connect the electrode holder to the negative (–)
socket [3] of the machine and secure it by turning
the connector clockwise.
Press the lever on the handle of the electrode
holder. Clamp an electrode with the bare end in
the holder, observing the notches on the inside of
the two jaws.
Attention!
Do not connect the earthing clamp to the welding
machine or gas cylinder as otherwise the
welding current will run through the PE conductor
connections and destroy them (see Fig. III).

TIG welding method

Connect the TIG torch
Connect the TIG torch to the negative socket [3]
and secure it by turning the connector clockwise.
Insert the electrode (Fig. IV)
Welding torch
Grind the end of the tungsten electrode [21] so
that it forms a point
Unscrew the clamping cap [22]
Insert the tungsten electrode [21] through the
appropriate clamping sleeve [20]
Screw on the clamping cap [22] again.
Note
Do not remove the clamping sleeve
housing [19] or gas nozzle [18].
