the workbench tipping due to incorrect loading.

INTENDED USE

Use the workbench only when it is in a good condition. If any faults occur which
may affect safety, have them rectified without delay.
Only attach components at the holes intended for this purpose.
Use exclusively approved Hoffmann Group accessories for modification or re-
building.
For work in indoor industrial environments. For use on dry solid floors.
Operate only in a dry environment.
3.3.1.

Support leg

Support leg for installation on the worktop of the GridLine Vario workbench.
Installation only in conjunction with a rear panel, drawer casing or stabilising
plates.
Cable ducts in the leg for laying connecting cables.
3.3.2.

Stabilising plate

Stabilising plate for installation on the worktop and support leg of the GridLine
Vario workbench.
For stiffening and stabilising the workbench.
Double stabilising plate: for connecting two worktops. For flush alignment of two
worktops, the joint strip must also be installed.
3.3.3.

Rear panel and storage shelf

Rear panel or storage shelf for installation on the support leg of the GridLine
Vario workbench.
Installation as a storage shelf only in conjunction with the stabilising plates.
Storage shelf for storage of workpieces and tools.
Rear panel as a modesty board and for stabilising the workbench.
Perform installation only on a workbench with two support legs.
Mount only on suitable holes.
Comply with the maximum load-bearing capacity.
3.3.4.

Casing

Size 200 to 500 and 800 to 900 for installation on a GridLine Vario workbench.
For installation up to and including size 500 in conjunction with a support leg.
From size 800 the casing replaces the support leg. Select the height to corres-
pond to the opposite support leg or casing.
Comply with the maximum load-bearing capacity.
Drawers for storage of tools.
Storage shelf for storage of workpieces and tools.
Mount only on suitable holes.
3.4.

IMPROPER USE

Do not place or position on the workbench. Not for transporting people.
Not for use in areas where the floor slopes upwards or downwards.
Do not use in explosion hazard areas.
No do expose it to water, precipitation or contamination.
Not for use in areas where the floor is loose or unpaved.
Do not overload the workbench, worktop, drawers or storage shelves.
Do not make any unauthorised modifications.

PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS

Specialists for mechanical work
Specialists in the sense of this documentation are persons who are familiar with as-
sembly work, mechanical installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and mainten-
ance of the products and who possess the following qualifications:
Qualification / training in the field of mechanics as specified in the nationally ap-
plicable regulations.
Trained person
Trained persons in the sense of this documentation are persons who have been
trained to perform work in the areas of transport, storage and operation.
3.6.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Comply with the national and regional regulations for safety and accident preven-
tion. Protective equipment such as safety shoes and safety gloves appropriate for the
risks associated with the intended activities must be selected, provided and worn.
3.7.

DUTIES OF THE OPERATING COMPANY

Ensure that all the work listed below is performed only by qualified specialists:

Maintenance
The operating company must ensure that personnel who work on the product com-
ply with the regulations and provisions together with the following instructions:
National and regional regulations for safety, accident prevention and environ-
mental protection regulations.
No damaged products are assembled, installed or commissioned.
The necessary protective equipment is provided.

Transport and place of erection

Immediately on receipt check the product for damage in transport. If the product is
damaged, do not install or commission it.
CAUTION
Improper transport to the place of erection
The workbench has a high tare weight - risk of injury if lifted improperly.

Wear foot protection and safety gloves.

Make sure the paths for movement and transport are clear.

At least two persons must be employed to transport the workbench to the erec-
tion location.

Ensure during movement and transport that all drawers and cupboard doors are
closed and locked.
Make sure that no components are damaged or destroyed during transport and
handling.

Use only suitable lifting gear for transporting the workbench to the erection loca-
tion.

Do not attach lifting gear to the worktop in order to lift the workbench.

Do not pull the workbench across the floor.

Keep the workbench horizontal during transport.
