2. Precautionary measures and safety instructions
2.1 Definition of terms
Warning! A warning indicates the risk of (serious) injury to the user or damage to the product if
the user does not carry out the operation carefully.
Please note! A comment to alert the user to a possible problem.
Tip: A tip provides the user with information on convenient functions and additional
options.
2.2 Safety and hazard information
Warning! This product is only suitable for well-insulated areas or occasional use.
Warning! Do not leave the packaging material (plastic bags, polystyrene, nails, etc.) within
the reach of children as it is a potential hazard.
Warning! This unit is only approved for connection to 230 V, 50/60 Hz AC voltage. It must be
protected from heavy soiling and moisture. Uses other than those described above can
cause damage to the unit, e.g. short circuit, electric shock, etc. Always follow the safety and
installation instructions.
Warning! The only permissible power source is a 230 V, 50/60 Hz mains socket.
Never attempt to operate the appliance with any other voltage.
Warning! Use this unit indoors only.
Warning! The unit must be disconnected from the mains power supply before opening the
housing or removing parts.
Warning! Never insert or remove the mains plug with wet hands. Warning! Never pull
on the power cable itself. Pull the mains plug out of the socket by the retaining device.
Warning! Never store or use flammable materials near the appliance.
Warning! Never use the unit in a highly flammable environment (e.g. near heating gas or
spray bottles).
Warning! Do not cover the fan heater.
Warning! Never install the appliance near water pipes, sinks or other water sources. Also,
never connect your fan heater to a power source if its surface is damp.
Warning! Do not insert any objects into the openings of the unit as this may result in injuries,
electric shocks or damage to the unit.
