Zero adjustment
Before initial use, after battery changes or with different measurement applica-
tions, carry out a zero adjustment of the appliance:
Place the appliance on the reference plate contained in the case.
■
Use the iron plate for the Fe probe.
■
For the NFe probe, use the aluminium plate or an uncoated Fe or NFe metal
■
substrate.
Ensure that the appliance is in the correct measuring mode during the
zero adjustment, as otherwise incorrect measurement results may be
obtained.
Ensure that the measuring head is in full contact with the substrate.
Initial use
Measurement on iron and steel substrate
Measurement on non-ferrous metal substrates
Zero adjustment error or incorrect operation
Measurements outside the probe measuring range,
wrong substrate
Battery weak, have replacement batteries available
Battery weak or discharged
Automatic substrate changeover active
