3.7 Commissioning/Filling with oil
CAUTION!
Before commissioning, meters with an oil pump must undergo
initial lubrication (> see "To insert oil").
CAUTION!
Always keep the supply tank topped up with oil to prevent air
entering the pipe system. Use only fresh, clean oil. The supply tank
must be sealed tightly immediately after filling so that no dirt or
water can get into it.
NOTE!
Other non-resinous and non-acidic oils with a viscosity of
23arden23. 30 mm²/s at 20°C, solidification point lower than -
30°C, or equivalent oils may be used. For special gases such as
propane or butane, or in difficult operating conditions (e.g. full load
operation or contaminated gases), the lubrication intervals should
be halved (every 1.5 – 2 months).
On gas meters without an oil pump, the section
entitled "To insert oil" can be omitted (continue
with "Commissioning").
To insert oil:
Open the cover of the oil supply tank (see
Fig. 5).
Fill the oil supply tank with the supplied oil.
The oil quantity is sufficient when the oil level is visible in the strainer.
The oil pump must be actuated as follows:
