1. Expansion slot – Here you can install a PCI expansion card if required.
2. Network connection socket. The built-in network adapter enables your computer to
connect to the Internet via a network or DSL. The connection is made via an Ethernet
network cable and RJ45 connectors. These are inserted on the back of the computer
and into an available network hub or DSL socket.
3. Parallel LPT1 interface – this interface is a 25-pin socket. Here you can connect a
printer.
4. Mouse connection socket – the PS/2 mouse is connected here.
5. Line in port – Here you can connect a CD or DVD player or another external audio
source.
6. Line out port – Here you can attach an amplifier, cassette recorder or another external
audio output device.
7 . Mains connection socket – the power cable is inserted here.
8. 15-pin graphics card port – the monitor is connected here. This socket may also be
located on an expansion card depending on the system configuration.
9. Rear USB connection sockets. USB peripheral equipment such as joysticks, mouse
devices, scanners, printers or digital cameras are connected here.
10. The serial interfaces COM1 and COM2 – Here you can connect serial peripheral de-
vices such as a serial mouse, external modems etc.
