MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
• Switch off the equipment and wait until it has stopped and cooled down before you clean it, put
it away or carry out any checks or work on it.
• Always fit the guard onto the blade when you transport or put the equipment away.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INFORMATION
• We recommend that you look through the hedge for hidden objects before you start cutting.
• Always use an earthed power switch with a leakage current of 30 mA or less.
• Never let children use the hedge cutter.
• Be extra alert if there are electric wires in the vicinity of the hedge you are cutting.
• Avoid working when other people, particularly children, are in the vicinity.
• Think about wearing appropriate clothing! Do not wear loose-fitting clothes or jewellery, as
these can become caught in the equipment's moving parts. We recommend that you use
heavy-duty gloves, non-slip shoes and protective glasses.
• Switch off the motor and disconnect from the power supply before you:
clean the equipment or remove anything which has become stuck

modify or adjust the blade's working position.
• Never touch the blade when you change the blade's working position (this applies if it is possible
to adjust the blade's angle or length on the telescopic pole).
• Always ensure that the hedge cutter is in the correct working position before you start it.
• Ensure that you are always standing in a safe and stable way when using the equipment. This
applies in particular if you are working on a ledge or on a ladder.
• Do not use the equipment if it is damaged or if the blade is extremely worn.
• The noise from the equipment can cause lasting hearing damage. For that reason, always use
ear protection.
• Ensure that all handles and safety guards are fitted when you use the equipment. Never attempt
to use any equipment which is not fully assembled or which has been adapted in a prohibited
way.
• Always hold the equipment with both hands if it is equipped with two handles.
• Always fit the guard onto the blade before you transport or store the equipment.
• Always read the instructions so you know how to use the equipment. Never use the equipment for any other
purpose than that for which it is intended.
• Ensure that you know how to switch off the equipment in an emergency.
• Always be alert to your surroundings and keep an eye out for potential dangers that you may
otherwise miss due to the noise emitted by the equipment.
• Ensure that no body parts come into contact with the blade. Never attempt to remove cuttings
from the blade or hold on to cuttings with your hand while the blade is moving. It is extremely
important that you pull out the plug and switch off the equipment completely before you
remove cuttings which have become stuck. It only takes a brief moment of carelessness while
working to end up with severe injuries.
• Carry the equipment by the handle. Wait first until the blade has come to a complete stop. Always
fit the guard onto the blade before you transport or store the equipment. You must handle the
equipment in the right way, otherwise there is a risk you could injure yourself on the blade.
• Ensure you keep the cable away from the blade. There is a risk of cutting the cable if it becomes
hidden by branches or similar.
• If the equipment's power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, or by
someone with similar qualifications. This is to minimise risks.
