Settings menu of solar thermal system
(not available for all control units)
The following overview provides a brief description of the
Solar settings menu. The menus and settings available in these
menus are described in detail on the following pages. The
menus depend on which control unit and solar thermal system
is installed. If applicable, the solar thermal system settings
menu is described in the installation instructions for the
control unit.
Menu overview Solar settings
•
Solar parameters – Settings for the installed solar thermal
system
– Solar circuit – Setting the parameters in the solar
circuit
– Cylinder – Setting the parameters for DHW cylinders
– Solar yield/optimisation – The solar yield anticipated
during the course of the day is estimated and taken into
account when controlling the heat generator. The
saving can be optimised using the settings in this menu.
– Transfer – With a pump, heat from the pre-heating
cylinder can be used to heat a buffer cylinder or a
cylinder for DHW heating.
– Solar DHW – Settings, e.g. for thermal disinfection,
can be made here.
•
Start solar thermal system – Once all required
parameters have been set, the solar system can be
started up.
The factory settings are shown in bold in the setting areas.

Setting area: function description
Speed ctrl.
The efficiency of the system is improved by
solar pump
controlling the temperature differential with
reference to the switch-on temperature
differential value (switch-on diff. of the solar
pump).
▶ Activate "Match-Flow" function in the
menu Solar parameters > Solar yield/
optimisation.
Notice: risk of system damage through
pump failure!
▶ If a pump with integrated speed control
is connected, deactivate the speed
control at the control unit.
No: the solar pump is not controlled via
modulation.
PWM: the solar pump is controlled via
modulation using a PWM signal.
0-10V: the solar pump is controlled via
modulation using an analogue 0-10V signal.
Min. speed
5 ... 100 %: the speed of the regulated solar
solar pump
pump cannot fall below the speed set here.
The solar pump remains at this speed until
the switch-on criterion no longer applies or
the speed is increased again.
The percentage is stated in relation to the
minimum and maximum speed of the pump.
5 % corresponds to the minimum speed
+5 %. 100 % corresponds to the maximum
speed.
Switch-on diff.
6 ... 10 ... 20 K: if the collector temperature
solar pump
exceeds the cylinder temperature by the
differential set here and all switch-on
conditions have been met, the solar pump is
on (at least 3 K more than Switch-off diff.
solar pump).
Switch-off diff.
3 ... 5 ... 17 K: if the collector temperature
solar pump
falls below the cylinder temperature by the
differential set here, the solar pump is off
(at least 3 K less than Switch-on diff. solar
pump).
Max. collector
100 ... 120 ... 140 °C: if the collector
temp.
temperature exceeds the temperature set
here, the solar pump is off.
