h) Selection of a Station Memory
• Proceed as described in chapter 13. f) and use the button „MODE/STORE" (D) to select the operating
mode „PRESET".
Push one of the buttons „TUNING -/+" to switch to the previous or next station memory.
• Use the IR remote control to select the desired station memory using the buttons „8" or „2" (10).
i) RDS-System
„RDS" means „Radio Data System". RDS is a method for transmitting additional information via the radio
signal. This is only possible in the FM range but not in the AM range.
If the FM station uses this technology and the RDS signal is received well, this information can be displayed
on the receiver.
Select the different information contained in the RDS signal by pushing the button „AMPLIFIER DISPLAY"
(6) on the IR remote control briefly several times.
The following information can be displayed:
• Pushing 1 x = display of the station name („PS")
This information is made up of up to 8 alpha numeric characters and shows the station currently being
received, e.g. „BAYERN 3").
• Pushing 2 x = display the programme type („PTY")
Here you can see the type of programme the radio station transmits (e.g. sports, classic music, news,
etc.). This makes it possible to search the stations that can currently be received for a specific program-
me; see description below.
• Pushing 3 x = display of the time („CT")
• Pushing 4 x = display the radio text („RT")
Depending on the station, different text messages can be displayed. For example, the name of the music
title currently being played or commercials can be displayed. The texts run from the right to the left on
the receiver display slowly.
• Pushing 5 x = displays the receiver frequency
