3. Safety Instructions
In the case of any damages which are caused due to the failure to observe these operating instructions, the
guarantee will expire! We do not assume liability for resulting damages!
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury, caused be improper use or the failure
to observe the safety instructions! The guarantee will expire in any such case!
•
Unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the device are inadmissible because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
Such acts invalidate the warranty.
•
The use of the pump is authorized only with residual current – protect switch (max. residual current 30mA according to the
relevant VDE 70 regulations), see prescribed use.
•
The voltage indicated on the type label must correspond to the used power supply voltage!
•
Keep electrical devices out of reach of children. Be especially careful if children are around. (Children could try to introduce
objects into the device), this represents a life-threatening electric shock. This product is not a toy and should be kept out of
reach of children.
•
Persons must not stand in the delivery medium of the pump during operation!
•
Make sure that all electrical connectors are located in areas protected against floods and weather influences!
•
The installation location of the pump must not be changed as long as the pump is in operation!
•
Make sure that all electrical connections, connecting cables between the pump and possible extension cables are in
accordance with the instructions of use!
•
Make sure that the ground wire (yellow/green) is not interrupted neither in the power line, in an eventually connected
extension line, nor in/at the device, since an interrupted ground wire represents a danger to life! Operating the device without
a ground wire connection is not permitted!
•
Never disconnect security devices!
•
Never use the line cord to transport the pump!
•
Disconnect the pump from the mains before cleaning it if you do not use it for a longer period of time.
•
If there is any reason to believe that safe operation has become impossible put the pump out of operation and secure it
against any unintended operation. Pull the power plug out of the wall outlet! Safe operation must be presumed to be no
longer possible, if:
-
the pump and the connecting lines show visible damages
-
the pump does not operate any longer,
-
the pump was transported or stored under unfavorable conditions.
•
Consequential damages to the pump caused by a flood must be ruled out by the user by way of taking appropriate measures
(for example through the installation of an alarm device, a spare pump etc.)!
•
Before cleaning the pump or performing maintenance, the following safety notes must be observed:
•
When opening covers or removing casing parts you may expose live parts.
•
Therefore, disconnect the device from all voltage sources before performing maintenance work or repairs. Capacitors inside
the device may still carry voltage even though they have been disconnected from all voltage sources.
•
Repairs may only be carried out by qualified personnel who are familiar with the hazards involved and the relevant
regulations.
•
In industrial facilities the regulations for the prevention of accidents as laid down by the professional trade association for
electrical equipment and devices need to be observed!
•
When in doubt about how to connect it correctly or should any questions arise that are not answered in these operating
instructions, as to the operation, the safety or the connection of the device, contact our Technical Advisory Service or another
expert.
•
Do not leave packaging material unattended. It could become dangerous playing material for children.
