6. Initial operation
Automatic operation
Connect the safety power plug of the pump with a safety plug. As soon as the float switch floats (lies horizontally), i.e. when
correctly fixed, from a water depth of approximately 7 cm, the pump starts to run. If the water level falls below approx. 5 to 6 cm
(float switch "tilts" forward) the immersion pump switches off automatically.
•
The motor of the pump is protected against a thermal overload. If necessary, the pump stops running and runs
again only when the winding temperature has fallen considerably .
•
When disconnecting the pump from the mains never pull on the power line itself, always pull the dry power plug
which must be completely dry!
•
If not in use, never hang the pump on the power line as this might damage or destroy it!
•
In case the pump pumped fluids, which leave residue, it should be thoroughly cleaned after use with clean
water!
•
Sand, mud or suspended sediment in the pumped water can affect its delivery rate.
•
Make sure that no particles bigger than approximately 35 mm get sucked as this can block the rotor turbine.
Manual operation
The pump can also be operated manually, i.e. the float switch is "laid" (via the retainer clamp at the side of the relay) or it is kept
up. Set the immersion pump in the water then connect the power plug to the mains - the power plug must be completely dry.
The immersion pump includes a device which exhausts the air from the pump automatically so that within a relatively short time
the pump can run in full delivery rate.
The minimum water depth can fall short when the pump is operated manually. An automatic cutoff does not occur.
Therefore, disconnect the pump from the mains as soon as the water depth falls below 5 cm. Otherwise, the pump
runs dry too long and can be damaged.
7. Maintenance and Care
Before cleaning the pump or performing maintenance, the following safety notes must be observed:
When opening covers or removing parts you may expose live parts. Therefore, disconnect the pump from all voltage sources
before performing maintenance work or repairs. Capacitors (motor start capacitor) inside the device may still carry voltage
even though they have been disconnected from all voltage sources. Never replace yourself damaged mains connection lines of
float switch lines! Repairs or maintenance work may only be carried out by QUALIFIED PERSONNEL who are familiar with the
hazards involved and the relevant regulations!
The pump requires no maintenance apart from cleaning every now and then the surface of the casing and the strainer. Control
every now and then the connecting line, the plug, the float switch and its cord for cracks and make sure that the insulation is
intact. The guarantee will expire in case of opening the motor socket or in the case of high-handed modifications to the inside
of the pump. If you do not use the pump for a longer period of time or before storing it, rinse the pump thoroughly with water
in order to drain it and store it completely dry! If there is danger of frost, the pump must be completely drained! After a longer
service life, check by quickly turning the pump on/off if the rotor turns properly!
Please observe the safety measures before cleaning the device. Clean the product only with a slightly moistened cloth or a
brush. Never use aggressive cleansing agents or chemical solvents since this might damage the product.
Do not use any cleaning agents which contain carbon or petrol, alcohol or the like to clean the product. These might corrode the
surface of the casing or the mechanics of the pump. The fumes are furthermore a health hazard and are explosive. Moreover,
you should not use sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers or metal brushes or similar for cleaning.
