3.2.

Preparing the stove

Please inspect the stove for damage caused during transport immediately after deliv-
ery and notify your distributor in case there are any defects. Do not put the stove
into operation in the meantime.
In order to avoid damaging the stove during installation and to make handling of the
stove easier, it is recommended to remove previously all loose parts (top plate, fire-
resistant bricks, grille, ashtray, ...) from the stove. Note the location of those parts
while removing them, so that you have no difficulties in re-assembling the parts
later on.
The stove will be supplied with the following parts:
A tool for making the connection opening to the chimney
A blanking plate to seal off the connection opening
A connection collar with fastening brackets
A small shovel to remove ashes
A "cold hand" to remove the ashtray
A pair of side panels (packed separately)

3.2.1. The smoke outlet

The stove can be connected to the chimney at the rear or at the top. On delivery it is
prepared to be connected at the rear. The stove can be converted for connection at
the top using the tools and accessories that are delivered together with the stove.
Connection at the rear
Unhook the heat shield at the back and break out the pre-
carved plate. Then attach the connection collar, which is sup-
plied with the stove, to the smoke outlet at the rear of the
stove, using the two fastening brackets on the inside and the
nuts on the outside (see the illustration opposite). Be sure that
the brackets correctly fit into their inserts at the left and right
hand side of the opening. Then seal the connection collar to
the stove by means of the kit or paste, which is delivered with
the stove.
Connection at the top
To connect the stove to the chimney at the top, break out the precarved opening in
the upper plate as well as the opening in the loose top plate, using the appropriate
tool. Follow the instructions in the additional manual to make these openings.
The tool can be installed via the opening in the rear plate
(after unhooking the heat shield first).
After having made the opening in the top, close the opening at
the back with the added blanking plate (see illustration oppo-
site). The blanking plate should be well sealed to the stove by
means of kit or paste.
Next, attach the connection collar to the opening on the top as
described above (see 'Connection at the rear').
Put the loose top plate and the heat shield back before connecting the stove to the
chimney.
