7. Placement of the barrel pump
• Push the telescopic tube onto the outlet opening (5) of the barrel pump (see figure in chapter 6) and screw it on
hand-tight (do not apply any force).
• The telescopic tube can be adjusted in length, depending on the height of the rain barrel in which you want to place
the barrel pump. For this, release the clamping sleeve (12) and move the telescopic tube. Then tighten the clamping
sleeve hand-tight (do not apply any force).
The barrel pump may be suspended from the edge of the rain barrel via the holding bracket (13). Adjust
the length of the telescopic tube so that the bottom of the barrel pump is not standing on the ground, but
suspended freely in the water. This prevents sucking in of dirt that has collected at the bottom of the rain
barrel.
The barrel pump must never be held or attached by the mains cable or the float switch! This may damage
the mains cable; there is danger to life from electric shock!
• If the float switch is not used, it can be attached to the side of the telescopic tube with the holding clip (10) (see
figure in chapter 6). In this case, you must monitor the barrel pump and the water level in the rain barrel to keep the
barrel pump from running dry.
• For the barrel pump to switch off when the water level in the rain barrel drops in order to avoid running dry, you need
to clip the cable of the float switch into the corresponding cable holder (6).
The deactivation water level will later result from the position in which the float switch cable is attached.
